Milo Marathon Finals on December 7

The 38th edition of the Milo Marathon finals will be held on December 7 at the Mall of Asia complex.  The Milo marathon is the oldest marathon event in the country, and is considered to be the national Championships of Marathon and Half Marathon and has long been used as the determiner of the Philippines’ representative to upcoming international competitions like SEA Games, Asian Games and the Asian Athletics Championships.

MEN’S CATEGORY

Little know Judiel Languido submitted the fastest 21k leg when he won the CDO leg last November 9 with a time of 1:10:16, fourteen seconds faster than Eduardo Buenavista who won the Tarlac leg.

National team mainstays Eric Panique won the Iloilo leg, 3,000m steeplechase specialist Rene Herrera won the Dagupan leg and 5,000m specialist Julius Sermona won the Baguio leg.

WOMEN’S CATEGORY

Mary Joy Tabal submitted the fasted leg with a 1:20:46 when she won the Butuan leg, faster by 6 minutes over Cristabel Martes, winner of the Baguio leg.  While Jho-An Banayag won the Manila leg with a 1:30:33 mark.

The 38th Milo finals edition promises to be a blast with both categories being well represented by marquee names.
