American Miler Steve Scott battles cancer

Before Alan Webb came along, there was an American miler named Steve Scott.  Steve held the American mile record for 26 yrs (1982 – 2007).

At one point, he was the second fastest of all time behind Sebastian Coe when he set his then American record 3:47.69 in July 7, 1982.  And has run the most number of one mile races under 4 minutes with 136 races.

Steve is now 58 yrs old and is battling prostate cancer.

Movin shoes, initiated a fund-raising drive for Steve and its tweet has gone viral.

The drive’s aim is to raise $100,000 for Steve’s treatment.  Below is the link to the article.
