Asian Games: Athletics Day 3 Medal Tally Update

After three days of athletics competition, China has led the way with 6-7-4 gold-silver-bronze medal haul.  They were followed by Qatar’s 5-0-1, then Bahrain’s 3-5-1.

China’s golds came from Changrui Xue (mens pole vault), Zhen Wang (mens 20k walk), Yongli Wei (womens 100m), Lijiao Gong (womens shotput), Zhang Wenxiu (womens hammer throw), Lu Xiuzhi (womens 20k walk) and Zhen Zhu Li (steeplechase) moved from 2nd to 1st after Bahraini Ruth Jebet was disqualified.

Qatar’s gold came all from the men’s side: Femi Ogunode (100m), Mohamad Al Garni (1500m & 5,000m), Abubaker Kamal (steeplechase), and Mutaz Barshim (High jump)

Bahrain on the other hand, got their 2 golds from the women’s side: Maryam Yusuf Jamal (1500m) and Oluwakemi Adekoya (400m).
