The First leg of the Asian Grand Prix was held on May 8 at Supalchasai National Stadium Bangkok.

Leading the charge was SEA Games gold and silver medalist Archand Bagsit, who ran a season leading 47.80 in the 400m Dash just .09s shy off his personal best when he gained the silver last sea games. Bagsit however did claim the scalp of Indonesian Astriyanto Heru the SEA Games gold medalist.

In the Mens Longjump Henry Dagmil finished in 7.26m, meanwhile 39 year old veteran Danilo Fresnido threw 58.58m in the Javelin finishing 10th.

SEA Games record holder Marestella Torres opened credibly for 2012 with a season leading 6.37m, with SlEA Games bronze medalist Kat Santos unfortunatley fouling most of her jumps and only able to register 5.46m to finish 9th.

The next leg of the Asian Grand Prix will take place 11 May at Kanchanburi, Thailand
