Upcoming Sprinter Jenny Rose Rosales blasts out of the blocks

The Asian Junior Track and Field is held every 2 years, this it will start June 7 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Athletes born in 1993 and after will be eligible be this meet we will look at some of the likely candidates for this meet. These will compared to results from the last Asia Juniors held in Hanoi.

Looking at recent results and stats 9 athletes have the credentials for suggestion for the Asian Junior Championships. The best chance is Jilla Dela Rosa of UST whose time of 11m56.17 puts her in contention for a bronze medal finish. The Philippines has not won a medal at this event for over a decade.

Talented upcoming sprinters such as Daniel Noval and Jennyrose Rosales who are the countries best junior sprinters should also perform wth credit with Noval just .02 seconds from  the junior record. And Rosales likely to make the finals in her chosen event.

Meanwhile at 16 years of age EJ Obiena is the youngest National Junior record holder in Phi Track and Field with 4.41m and would be looking on improving that mark.

The talented throwing duo of De Oro and Cimatu have already won medals at asean and asian youth level.
