Attached Below are the Laguna Time Trial Results conducted by the PATAFA at Santa Cruz, Laguna Saturday and Sunday March 24 and 25.
There were some performances here that are season leaders, meaning better performances than the UAAP, NCAA and other early meets held in 2012. With National athletes having their first hit out since the SEA Games back in December last year. The top performer was former SEA Games Champion Rosie Villarito in the womens Javelin with a season lead opener of 48.27m, which was better than her silver medal throw however some 4m off her pb of 52.34m. Veteran Heptathlete Narcisca Atienza threw the #2 best throw this year with 42.74m (best is 45.52m).
Three of the four members of the Mens Gold winning 4×4 (sea games) showed some fine form with Archand Bagsit improving his seasons best time at the NCAA from 48.87 to 48.0 (hand timed). Bagsit was silver in the individual 400m at the sea games with a career best time of 47.71. Relay partner Edgardo Alejan Jr. followed Bagsit home in a personal best time of 48.6.
Meanwhile in the 400m Hurdles there relay partner Junrey Bano registered a fast solo effort time of 51.9 seconds in the 400m Hurdles. This time was right up near his best time of 51.86 from Hongkong Invitationals last year. Bano finished a close fourth at the last sea games in this event.
A good opening series of jumps from the National Record Holders, Henry Dagmil leapt 7.43m in the long jump, while 32 year old Joebert Delicano who missed last year due to injuries triple jumped 15.20m, the best performance by a Filipino athlete for the last three years.
In Javelin former Junior standout Allanloid Lumbao of Ilocos returned to win the Javelin with a season lead of 61.24m (best is 63.06m) ahead of last years NCAA Champion Gusti Pido 59.57m. Lumbao will be looking at challenging veteran throwers Danilo Fresnido and Dandy Gallenero at the upcoming National Games for a spot in the team.
SEA Games Steeple Chase Gold medalist Rene Herrera also in a solo effort opened with a decent 15m14.8 in the 5k (pb is 14m57).
