2010 Palarong Pambansa

All systems go for this year’s edition of the Palarong Pambansa which will be held at San Jose Sports Complex Tarlac City from April 11-18.

As usual, University and College coaches from the NCR are expected to watch the Games to woo and recruit potential players for their respective institutions.

Below are the current athletic records of the Palarong Pambansa (updated as of May 2009):

I meant hear hahaha. Nice blog and quite detailed. Keep it up. You know what I want to hear? More of Serenata and how she is doing. I think she needs to do some altitude training to make her times ready for asian games…let’s see.

    • Thanks for the compliment bong. I have a scheduled interview with Serenata this April. Will post the interview as soon as possible. She’s doing fine, she’s training at Rodriguez Sports Complex in Marikina. She’s well coached. her coach, Manny Calipes is an IAAF Level 5 certified. Only he, and National Coach Joseph Sy have that certification level i nthe Philippines. Coach Calipes was also my coach when I graduated from UST in 1995. He’s very scientific and was prime mover of plyometrics training in the Philippines. Definitely, all runners need altitude training, but I am not sure if she can still make the Asian Games lineup. It all depends on her National Open performance. She’s still 17 (turning 18 by September), she is not yet being pushed to the limit by her coach but look at her times already. The immediate goal I think is to break the 2:07 RP record held by Nenita Dungca. Then contend in the Asian level in the next two years, then in the World level when she’s 21 or 22.
