This is pinoy miler signing in. I am a Filipino, former track athlete (1987 to 1995) from the University of Santo Tomas. I competed in the 400 meters, 800 meters and 1500 meters. Though my interest also covers up to the Marathon.
I have retired from competitive athletics 14 years ago right after college graduation, but decided to take up running again and promote track athletics, specifically 800 meters, up to the 10,000 meters.
This blog hopefully, will help generate interest among the Filipinos on wonderful world of Track running/racing.

@TessPar: Sure anything is possible. But the best way for PATAFA to notice your talented kids is to play here in the PH during National OPen (May) or during the Weekly Relays (October – December). Btw, i am not connected with PATAFA, the Athletics body of the philippines. Im just a humble blogger. regards
Hi Pinoymiler,
I just want to ask if an athlete which is not affiliated with a school or any running team can participate/join the national open. I was a competitive athlete back in my school days circa late 90’s early 2000s. want to try my luck to join the national pool although I’m in my mid 20s now. Thanks in advance. hoping for your response.
Hi Adrian, yes, anyone can join the National Open as an unattached athlete. You have to fill out a registration form to be posted by PATAFA in their multiply blog and/or facebook account. Goodluck bro!
Nothing wrong with being in your mid 20s
I doubled up in the 800 and 1500–finished third in both (I think). Don’t know where the medals are anymore. Anyway, that was my first and last season.
Suggest you have your blog listed at the Takbo.ph website.
More power!

Hello Pinoymiler,
I ran for UP under Coach Pedro Subido. At last, a blog from somebody who really knows what he’s talking about.
Do keep it up!
Many thanks for the compliment Kap10! What are your events during your playing days?
Cool. Coach Pedro Subido is my grandpa. 🙂 He is a renowned athlete and U.P professor.
